Weather:
Not as cool, 48 degrees, foggy, calm and
clear skies.
Temperatures climbed steadily to the high
70's and eventually low 80's with blue skies and no wind.

Highlights:
Hard to believe, but the scenery matched
if not exceeded yesterday. Beautiful panoramas, green rolling
mountains, steep climbs and smooth descents. Lots of pastures,
horses and farms. A couple of small lakes punctuated the ride
today with boaters and fishermen.
Great peach pie for lunch (Bruce had 3
pieces).
Great roads in Georgia!! Unfortunately,
the drivers we've encountered are less friendly and tolerant
than the other states we've ridden through. We think this may
be due to our close proximity to larger cities (where people
are more hurried and anxious).

People We Rode With:
We started out in the position most familiar
for Bruce, which is "sweep" (last to leave) and caught
up to a group of riders including Susan, Lois, Jim, Ron and Monika.
After riding with them awhile, we went ahead but somehow the
two of us got separated. After the first stop, Brian rode briefly
with Marty and Lisa and then grinded up the steep climb with
a string of other riders. After the second stop, Brian, rode
solo to lunch and to the hotel.
Bruce rode solo most of the day and nursed
a sore Achilles tendon.
Bruce's Total Saddle Time = 5 hrs. 46
min.

Comments/Quotes:
There are a lot of gnats out this time
of year, and about 3,000 have met their end on PAC Tour riders
over the past 2 days!
More yard sales today, and many people
just left their belongings outside overnight, indicating the
generally higher level of trust in these parts, particularly
when compared to Brian's current residence in New York City!
The end of the tour is within reach! The
toughest days of riding are completed. We are all looking forward
to the last day and the ceremonial dipping of our bikes in the
Atlantic Ocean!
