Date: 9/25/98
Fr: Show Low, AZ
To: Springerville, AZ
Total Miles: 58
Feet Climbed: 3,060
Weather:
Very cool in the AM - (45 degrees).
Perfectly blue skies all day.
Warmed up to 80 degrees in the afternoon - intense tail winds were a great help.

Points of Interest:
We reached the highest elevation of the entire trip - 9,230 feet at mile 39.
We traveled through the White Mountain Apache reservation again.
Eagar , Az. - a beautiful little town surrounded by the mountains.

Highlights:
The scenery was fantastic and a great contrast to yesterday's canyons and steep rock walls. We saw pine forests, small (deep blue) lakes and wide open grass lands.

People We Rode With:
We rode together for the entire day - we really worked hard on the pictures - hope you enjoy them!

Comments/Quotes:
We descended the last 20 miles of the ride with strong tail winds - Brian reached a top speed of 58 mph, Bruce reached 53 mph.
The altitude became a major factor this morning.
A special thanks to all of you who donated to the Children of Tomorrow Scholarship fund!!!
We've added an index with names, faces, occupations and hometowns of the riders.
